I've coached senior mens teams, juniors, womens and this year I'm coaching the reserve Mens team. Out of all the team I've coached over the last 10 years this team is the tightest & it shows both off the park & on.
We have some great characters in the team but I think it's all the little things that the players & myself do that add up & create a good bond. Here are a few & I'd be interested in any others out there?

1. TALK TO THEM ABOUT THINGS OUTSIDE OF SOCCER
(How was your week? How’s work? How’s your brother?)
2. PHONES ARE PUT AWAY ONCE YOU’RE IN THE CHANGEROOM
(Pre-game or pre-taining put the phones away & have a chat & laugh together)
3. SOMEONE TELL A JOKE AT THE START OF EVERY TAINING SESSION
(What has a tick & the Eiffel Tower got in common?)
4. MAKE A PLAYER OF THE ROUND FOR SOMETHING THEY DID OFF THE FIELD (Did a player take junior coaching? Did someone help at the gate?)
5. MEET FOR TEAM TEAS, BREAKFASTS OR DO THINGS OUTSIDE OF SOCCER
(Go rock climbing, go out for tea instead of training once a month)
Happy coaching!

P.S. If you need some drills & advice to improve your coaching I'd love it if you grabbed my eBooks/books - they're only a couple of bucks each.
