𝗣𝗨𝗥𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗘: Improve competitiveness, shielding of the ball and speed of pressing while having fun!
𝗦𝗘𝗧 𝗨𝗣: 6 to 18 Players 20x20 yard Circle 15 minutes
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗟𝗟 - Split the players into two teams inside a large circle. All players on the Attacking team start with a ball.
- Attackers aim to keep their balls inside the circle for as long as possible by dribbling, shielding and passing.
- Defenders aim to win all the balls and kick them outside the circle.
- As the number of balls in play reduces, Attackers should look to pass to teammates without a ball. For example, it may start with 6 Attackers all with a ball dribbling around and protecting their ball. But as a couple of balls get knocked out, the Attackers should look to pass more to avoid the Defenders getting the balls.
- After the Defensive team kicks all the balls outside the circle, teams swap.
- Time each round and whichever team keeps their balls the longest wins and gives a punishment to the other team.
𝗖𝗢𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗦: Attacking team should use their body to shield the ball (keep the ball on the outside/furthest side of their body to the defender).
Attackers should be constantly scanning the circle to see where the next Defender is coming from.
When an Attacker has lost their ball they should make themselves available to receive a pass straight away.
Defensive players work together and communicate constantly. They should be pressing hard to try and win all the balls as quickly as possible.
