๐—ฃ๐—จ๐—ฅ๐—ฃ๐—ข๐—ฆ๐—˜: To improve decision making for the attackers and defensive positioning for the defenders.


๐—ฆ๐—˜๐—ง ๐—จ๐—ฃ: - 8 to 14 Players - Cones to mark out a circle - 10 minutes


๐—ง๐—›๐—˜ ๐——๐—ฅ๐—œ๐—Ÿ๐—Ÿ - In this Rondo there are 9 players: 7 attackers around the outside of the circle and 2 defenders in the middle.

- The Attackers start with the โ€œcreditโ€ of 10 push ups and the Defenders with 0 push ups.

- The aim of the attackers is to keep possession until they can make a decisive pass that splits the 2 defenders. If they make a pass that splits the defenders a push up is taken off them and added to the defenders.

- Play until the defenders win the ball then all players do their allocated push ups (ie if the Attackers split the defenders twice they would have 8 push ups [the initial 10 minus 2] to do and the Defenders would have 2 to do).

- The player that made the mistake and the player to their right go in as the next 2 defenders in the middle.


๐—–๐—ข๐—”๐—–๐—›๐—˜๐—ฆ ๐—ก๐—ข๐—ง๐—˜๐—ฆ: The aim of this rondo is to teach the players in possession patience. We donโ€™t want them to try and make the split pass when it is not on!

Defenders should work together with one pressing the player in possession and the other blocking the side where the pass would potentially go, looking to pick off any loose pass.

Attackers should stay patient, move the ball around which opens the Defenders up and then pick the moment to make the splitting pass. In a game this would take 2 defenders out and would open up the attack.

Defenders should be constantly communicating to each other. For example โ€œPress the ball Iโ€™m on your right!โ€ and โ€œStay tight with me, Iโ€™ll press!โ€.
