SOLE ROLLS This helps with players' touch and learning to move the ball.

How to do Sole Rolls: - Simply roll the ball softly with the sole of the foot in any direction. Then, with the same foot, roll it back to the starting position. For example, roll it out to the right with the sole of the right foot, then roll it back to the starting position with the sole of the right foot.

- Start by doing it in the one spot and then progress to moving around the ground doing it.

- Once they have the hang of it, players can roll it forward, backwards or whichever direction they want with the sole of either foot.

- And once they are comfortable, get them to alternate feet - so it might be to roll it out to the right with your right foot, then roll it out to the left with the left foot.

TIP: Tell the kids to do it at home while sitting on the couch, walking around the house or walking home from school! (Maybe buy a soft soccer ball in case they get carried away at home).

SUMMARY OF SOLE ROLLS: 1 - Start with both feet behind the ball (the same starting position as Toe Taps). 2 - Roll the ball to the right with the sole of the right foot. 3 - The ball should finish slightly out to the right of the body as in the above image. 4 - Now roll the ball back to the starting position with the same foot (right foot). 5 - The ball should finish in its original starting position.
